See the world’s first hotel installation of
BeoVision 4-103 at Hotel Hesselet
Bang & Olufsen launched the BeoVision 4-103 in April 2009, and this gigantic TV concept can now be experienced at the Hotel Hesselet in Denmark.
Hotel Hesselet promises that guests will “get a little more of the very best”, and the experience of a Bang & Olufsen 103” plasma television offers precisely that. Located on the island of Funen by the Great Belt, this family-owned and operated hotel lies attractively between beech forests and the sea and has been one of Denmark’s best luxury hotels for a half century.
Hotel Hesselet has a long tradition of furnishing rooms and interiors with the best of Danish Design, and over the years Bang & Olufsen products have been a natural part of this.
“When furnishing the hotel, we haven’t considered other products; in fact, we couldn’t imaging installing other than Bang & Olufsen,” says Peter Karner, Hotel Director. “Even taking into account our long association with Bang & Olufsen products, we think it’s amazing that we are the first in Denmark – and the world – to install the BeoVision 4-103; the size and quality of the screen is breathtaking.”
Bang & Olufsen the straight-forward choice
The installation of the BeoVision 4-103 is part of a major rebuilding and expansion project at the hotel. In addition to 12 new rooms and a Wellness area, conference rooms with their own lounge facilities have also being built, and the 103” television has pride-of-place mounted on the wall in the largest of the conference rooms.
The hotel already had a BeoVision 4-65 installed in an existing conference room, so the BeoVision 4 concept was already known and appreciated. Therefore the choice of this gigantic TV concept was straight-forward, creating cohesion between the original and new parts of the hotel. The newly-built conference room and the placement of the BeoVision 4-103 was thought through in advance during construction and the result today is a perfect fit.

Getting more out of the very best
Hotel Hesselet offers 53 double guestrooms and six spacious suites, all with a view of either the sea or the forest. Every room in the hotel is installed with the 23” BeoVision 6 LCD television, and the 26” BeoVision 6 is installed in the suites.
All BeoVision televisions in the hotel are of course integrated with the hotel’s interactive information system. When guests ring from their rooms, they will be doing so on Bang & Olufsen BeoCom telephones.
Facilities at the hotel include the newly-rebuilt exquisite Wellness area with pool, Jacuzzi, massage bench, fitness room (equipped with Bang & Olufsen audio and video systems of course), sauna and solarium. Furthermore, the hotel has its own tennis courts, table tennis and billiard tables. Bicycles are available for hire to explore the beauty of the local area, and divine dining is available in the highly-regarded restaurant.
A powerful and intelligent all-purpose TV
The BeoVision 4-103 presents an impressive 103” full HD plasma screen with a high-grade aluminium frame. Although the screen is wall-mounted at the Hotel Hesselet, BeoVision 4-103 is also supplied with an enormously powerful motorised stand that lifts, turns and tilts the massive screen to the ideal viewing position.
BeoVision 4-103 is by nature mainly suited for home cinema viewing owing to its exceptional picture quality and its significant size. However, this TV incorporates a range of picture improvement technologies, such as automatic picture control and an anti-reflection coated contrast screen, which also enhances the viewing experience during daytime viewing. All motorised movements and television functionality is controlled with the Beo5 remote control.
The Full HD screen (1920 x 1080) and integrated DVB HD module makes it possible to receive digital programmes in MPEG2 or MPEG4 formats in high definition quality, while the powerful BeoSystem 3 picture and surround sound engine incorporates Bang & Olufsen proprietary and licensed technologies for picture and viewing optimisation.
The Advanced Surround Sound module and Adaptive Sound Technology uses advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to enhance the sweet spot and place it anywhere in the room. In addition to the BeoLab 10 centre speaker that features patented Acoustic Lens Technology for controlling the directivity and dispersion of the high frequencies, it is possible to connect up to 14 BeoLab speakers for a superior surround sound experience.
